Who are we?

About Undiscovered Sailing

Undiscovered Sailing was created by married couple, Patrycja and Wojtek. It’s a Scottish company which organises and runs sailing holidays in the Masurian Lake District in Poland.

As a small, family run, business we can offer yacht charter and, as sailors, we offer full care of the skipper on board as well as a local guide. We want our clients to share our passion for sailing and feel fully taken care of. Constant inquiries from sailors contributed to expanding our offer to include bareboats charters.

From his childhood, Wojtek spent time sailing in inland and sea waters and in 2000 he gained a yacht sailor’s patent that allows him to sail a yacht up to 12 metres long.

Having lived in Scotland for a good number of years, we noticed that British people, who already visited Poland, had very good memories of their stay in Poland. At the same time, we know that these memories are based on staying in big cities and, in our opinion, there is still a lot to see for people who are looking for adventures, new challenges coupled with a little adrenaline.

In recent years, we visited our favourite place – the Masurian lakes – and realised that they are very much still undiscovered by the British people – hence the name of our business, “Undiscovered Sailing”.

Having experience as sailors, we also realise that not everyone enjoys sea sailing, which involves long periods of being away from land. So, for people not experienced with sailing activities, sea sailing may seem not very attractive. However, the Masurian lakes in Poland are the ideal location to introduce sailing skills. If you’ve visited the Lake District in England, we can assure you that the Masurian lakes are equally beautiful but many times larger, with the perfect infrastructure of ports, taverns, pubs, friendly residents, and sailors from all over Europe. You might be surprised how good sailing you can experience in this beautiful – and relatively undiscovered – region of the world.

Our aim of organising charters for British people is to show them how beautiful Poland is, whether you have no sailing experience, are a novice or a professional sailor.

Antila Yachts

The cruises take place on the Antila boats. The attractive, dynamic silhouette of the yachts combined with the ergonomic shape of the deck and elaborate details which reflect the elegance and sporting characteristics of the yachts.

Antila Yachts are very comfortable  cruises with a clever mast-lowering system allowing it to clear the bridges over the canals which connect the vast system of interlocking lakes.

The boats have a lifting keel which is ideal for anchoring for lunch or an overnight stay in one of many quiet bays around the lakes.

Antila 33.3, Antila 30 & Antila 27 are available for Assisted Sailing & Bareboat Charters packages.

Skippered Charters packages are based on Antila 33.3.

‘I have just returned from a wonderful holiday with “Undiscovered Sailing” – so well named, who knew that Poland held such sailing wonders as the Masurian Lakes ! An  new adventure for a seasoned sea sailor from Scotland, consistent sunshine, and great winds what more could one ask for….. did I mention a central heating if temp dropped at night. Luxury ! Great holiday for seasoned and novice sailors alike, the lakes are full of beautiful anchorages hidden among the reed beds, even  marinas, can be discovered  , skipper needed note hidden. Huge thanks to our hosts skipper Voytek and his lovely wife Patrycja who guided us through our adventure introducing us to local cuisine, masts that drop to access canals, lifting keels AND bow thrusters.

Splendid holiday thank you’.

‘I’ve just had the most fantastic sailing holiday in Poland with Undiscovered Sailing! My friend and I were met at the airport by Patrycja, one of the company owners, and driven through the beautiful Polish countryside to our boat, a gleaming, new Antila 33.3. Voytek, Patrycja’s husband – and our skipper – was waiting for us. We were soon settled into our beautiful cabins (complete with usb and mains sockets for charging etc.) then heading out onto the vast Masurian Lakes. It was perfect sailing weather, surrounded by stunning scenery. As an experienced sea sailor it is very different on the lakes. The boat is simple and easy to sail. We had some amazing sails in safe waters with sun and wind. We anchored in small quiet bays for our lunches and in the evenings we ate well in different restaurants and were entertained in bars with live music. As a fish-eating vegetarian I did wonder what my choice of food might be but I soon realised that I needn’t have worried as I ate very well. The ‘Zupa Pomidorowa’ (tomato soup with noodles) and the Polish dumplings were delicious! Our hosts cooked for us and washed the dishes! Before I went on this holiday I didn’t know much about Poland or its people. We learned a lot about Polish history and the country. Now one thing I do know is that this lovely couple certainly know how to do sailing holidays!’
